More Information

Acorn House is a welcoming and supportive children’s residential care home designed to provide comfort, security, and personalised care for young people. Our home creates a safe, nurturing environment where young people can feel valued, understood, and encouraged to thrive.

Each young person has their own spacious bedroom that they are invited to personalise, giving them a sense of ownership and belonging. Acorn House benefits from local connections and community access, with leisure facilities, transport links, and social opportunities close by to support engagement and independence.

Education and Personal Development

We recognise that education is central to a young person’s growth and future opportunities. At Acorn House, we fully support education in all its forms. This includes transporting young people to school or alternative educational provisions and offering structured support with homework and learning activities within the home.

Our team works collaboratively with education providers to ensure continuity, progress, and positive experiences for every young person in our care.

Therapeutically Informed Care

At Acorn House, we deliver care that is therapeutically informed, relationship-based, and child-centred. Our staff are trained in the PACE therapeutic parenting model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), enabling them to build trusting and supportive relationships that promote emotional wellbeing.

To further support emotional development, we provide 1:1 therapeutic sessions delivered by trained professionals. These sessions help young people process experiences, express themselves safely, and build resilience. For detailed information about our therapeutic approach, please visit our Therapeutic Care page.
